WET AND WILD: EYESHADOWS

Shade: Silent Treatment

Shade: Walking on Eggshells

Shade: The Naked Truth

Single Eyeshadow- Creme Brulee

Shade: Comfort Zone

I recently picked up a whole lot of Wet and Wild eyeshadows to test out as I have heard such great things about them! Not only are they great eyeshadows but they are also such great value for money!

There is a huge amount of shades you can choose from, so there is something to suit every one. The quality of these eyeshadow are great. They are highly pigmented and so buttery! They are not chalky at all, and blend over the eyelid with ease. The only disappointment with these is you can get a bit of fall out so you have to be careful when applying them. I just use a really light hand when applying and tap the extra eyeshadow off my brush before application.

Apart from that little disappointment I found them really great. The eyeshadow colour combinations of the palettes work really well together, and I love the little indentation guidelines of wear to put it. A Great help for beginners.

I defiantly recommend giving these a try out if your a beginner or more advanced. They look great and are perfect for your travel makeup bag.

SNOW DAY

Its 1 degree here in Dunedin today !!! It so cold,  but the town look beautiful covered in snow! I thought I would show you some nice pics I took early this morning :)

On the plus side a large mink blanket arrived at my door this morning perfect for this kind of weather! I can't wait to get home and snuggle up in it on the couch and eat soup! It is defiantly one of those kinds of days here in Dunedin.

I just dreaming about getting to Fiji and laying under the warm sun with a cocktail and book in hand. With no worries as exams will be all over!

I hope you guys are not as cold as I am, and that you are having a good day :)

BRAND FOCUS : NARS

Left: NARS Sheer Glow Foundation- NARS tinted Moisturizer.
Laying flat top to Bottom: NARS Creamy Concealer Medium 1 Custard, NARS Eyeshadow Primer, NARS stick Concealer Medium 1 Custard

Blush: Gina

Bottom: Deep Throat. Above: Gina. To the right of Gina: Super Orgasm. Above SO: Albatross (Highlight). TO the right : Duo: Orgasm blush and Laguna Bronzer.

I

If I had to narrow it down to one brand that I could only wear for the rest of my Life it would defiantly have to be NARS. There is some many great products within the range and so much versatility. Don't let the obscure names of the product doubt you!

Today I'm going to show you some of the product I own within the collection and also some I can't wait to get my hands on!

NARS Blushes
All I can say is I wish I owned them all! They are all so beautiful and the formula of them is amazing. They are perfectly pigmented making application a breeze. The texture of them is very soft, they are very finely milled not chalky at all , not chalky at all. In terms of finish they do slightly change between each blush . Deep Throat and Orgasm have a very fine shimmer running through them Super Orgasm has very distinct glittery pigments in it with makes it great for when you are going for a more dramatic look. I tend to wear this one only at night. Gina is a coral orange toned blush that has more of a matte finish, It is one I love reaching for in the warmer months.

NARS Highlight (Albatross)
This agin like the blushes is beautiful. The formulation is amazing, the texture is so finely milled and sort. Albatross is a dramatic Champagne toned blush with a slight golden shimmer running through it. This is your perfect night out highlighter.

NARS Bronzer (Laguna)
I don't know how many times I have raved on about this bronzer! It is a cult favourite in the beauty world! It's that perfect shade of bronze for everyday wear that won't leave you looking orange! I have it on its on and also in a nice little compact with the Orgasm blush that makes it great for travel.

NARS Eyeshadow Primer
This is one of the best eye shadow primers I have found. It helps keep you eyeshadow in place all day! A great tip is that it also works really well as a lipstick primer to help keep your lipstick on for longer to.

NARS Creamy Concealer
If you are looking for a concealer to cover up you imperfection and redness this is one you need to try. It is one of the best I have come across. It has a great full coverage but blends into the skin so well not leaving you felling cakey at all.

NARS Stick Concealer
Unfortunately this one was a disappointment for me :( FOr the price tag it know where near lived up to its name. I found that it would cover my imperfections when first apply very well but after about an hour it was gone and the imperfection were visible again. I had to keep on reapplying it, and then just eventually gave up.

NARS Tinted Moisturizer
I got given a little sample of this and wow was I impressed! I applied really well and evenly across the skin giving a nice light coverage. It is great for those days where you are just wanting a light base. Matched with the creamy concealer, It works perfectly for those no makeup makeup days.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation
There is nothing bad I can say about this foundation, and once again I have raved on about it many times before. It just gives your skin the perfect coverage and blends in so well.

As you can see I truly do love NARS products and there is only really one miss that I have come across so far. I really do recommend giving the products a try as I believe they are worth the price tag they come with. Some other NARS products I can't wait to get my hands on are the Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, and the eyeshadows.

I hope you enjoyed :)

NYX JUMBO EYESHADOW PENCILS

Hey Lovelies

Today I'm doing some swatches and a mini review on the much loved NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencils.

These are a must have in everyones collection! They are so versatile and come in an amazing array of colours. As you can see in my collection I like to stick to the neutrals, but if you are more adventurous with you colourings there is heaps of bright fun colours in the range too.

What makes these so great is they are so affordable, and yet are really good quality for the money you pay for them. Yes, I can say there are better shadow pencils on the market, but you will be paying more than double the price for them. For an affordable shadow they are great!

The formula is nice and creamy so they blend over the eyelid with ease. They are very blend-able so you can use them as a all over lid colour or just an eyeliner. I usually tend to use the lighter shades on my inner corner, and my brow-bone as highlights, and the darker brown shades as either eyeliner or in my crease.

A good trick because they are so creamy,  is to use them as a base for your eyeshadow, which will help make your eyeshadow last longer. These also come in a black and white colour. The white is a good one to use to line your waterline for a more awake look, and you can use the black one just as you would with any black eyeliner.

My only disappointment with these pencils is they are a mission to sharpen as you have to find a jumbo sharpener. Also they can crease sometimes after wearing them for a long period of time.

I highly recommend giving these a go. They are really fun to play around with and experiment. Lately I have been finding myself reaching for these a lot and that is why I wanted to share them with you!

GREAT TIPS FOR OILY SKIN

If you have been reading my posts for a while now you would now know that I suffer from oily skin. It is not a pleasant skin type to have, as by the end of the day your make up has slicked of your face, and also I constantly feel like my pores a clogged up.

Today I'm going to share with you some of my tips and tricks on how to keep your makeup in place all day, and reduce that greasy sheen to the skin.

My first tip is make sure you are using a Oily free foundation or BB cream for everyday. When applying a base to your skin you are not going to want to be adding more oil into the mix. This will only make things worse. A foundation I love is the Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation. It gives great coverage and doesn't leave your skin felling greaser than it already did.

A BB Cream favourite of mine is the Mayballine Dream Pure in the Oily Skin formula it contains Salicylic Acid which helps penetrate blocked pores and helps with the prevention of pimples.

After our foundation is on we want to set it with a powder that will help prevent greasiness on the skins service. My all time favourite and top recommendation is the Rimmel Stay Matte powder. It works wonders. I have it in my purse throughout the day, when I am in need of any tough ups I just pop it out and it makes the shine disappear instantly.

Makeup setting spray is also a good added extra to your routine to stop your makeup moving around throughout the day. My favourite is the Urban Decay De-Slick setting spray. Spray this on when your are finished applying your make up and your set. It will help keep your makeup staying put while the day goes on.

Not only do we need to prep our face but we also need to prep our eyes, to avoid our eyeshadow moving around and coming off. A great eye primer is the NARS one. I use this when I need to make sure my eyeshadow stays put throughout the day. Another great tip is using a coloured cream eyeshadow to prime your eyes. Here I have a MAC paint pot. Cream eyeshadow works well as the powder eyeshadows adhere to it.

If you find yourself getting a bit greasy looking mid way through the day. Blotting papers are a great thing to have in your purse. Whip one of these guys out of the packet and start to blot your face. They absorb all the excess oils off your face.

I Hope you enjoyed :)

JORDANA BLUSHES

Top to Bottom : Rose Silk, Sandalwood, Coral Sandy Beach

Top to Bottom: Rouge, Touch of Pink

Hi Lovelies

Today Im going to do a review on the Jordana Blushes. These are so affordable for all you ladies on a budget. A steal at only $2.49. There is a huge range of colours to choose from, and today I'm going to review the five I own for you :)

I not going to lie I was very skeptical when first going to buy these as they were so cheap and I have had so many flops when it has come to cheap blushes. But to my surprise I was quite impressed.

All of the blushes are very similar in texture, they are slightly on the powdery side but not to the point where it makes me not want to use them, you just get the tiniest bit of fall out. They are all very highly pigmented and have great colour payoff making them very build-able. Even the light colours have amazing colour payoff. They blend into the skin great. I tend to use a very light hand while applying these blushes as I like to only get a light flush of colour to the cheeks. They have an amazing range of colours available from your soft pinks to you bright corals there is one for every occasion.

The packaging doesn't actually bother me to much on these ones, as it is not bulky and the silver looks quite nice when you have them all lined up together in your makeup draw. They are still packaged with cheap plastic though so you still need to be careful with them.

All up I think these blushes are a definite win! I can't wait to try some more shades out!

5 THINGS THAT MADE ME HAPPY THIS WEEK

1. The Autumn leaves falling.
All the leaves are falling from the trees, and to me its just so peaceful and beautiful. I walk to uni everyday over a field now covered in leaves, and it made me appreciate how beautiful nature is.

2. Tea time.
Theres nothing better than a nice cup of hot tea. It's just the perfect thing to make you fell cosy and warm inside. The perfect pick me up on cold winter days.

3. Our new kitty- Blaze.
We have seemed to have adopted a stay adorable black cat at my boyfriends flat. He started coming in ever once and a while to have a nosy around, and now he is pretty much permanently living with us. We don't think he had a home before, and was a stray, so we started to feed him and got him nice and healthy. He is so cute and it's just really lovely to have the little guy there to cuddle.

4. My new black coat.
It was time for a new coat! and we all know the felling you get when you are wearing a nice brand new piece of clothing for the first time. My coat is so nice and warm and I can wear it with so many outfits!

5. Generosity
I have been fortunate enough to come across some situations this week where I have experienced generosity. If it was paying for a meal,  or to getting free samples at the drugstore. It really makes me think how lovely people can be.

I hope you enjoyed :)

WET AND WILD MEGA LAST MATTE LIPSTICK COLLECTION

Im am a huge lover of these Wet and Wild lipsticks! Not only are they super affordable they come in a nice large range of colours, and the formula is great. These guys retail for $1.89. So cheap!! The pigmentation is great creating a nice opaque matte finish on the lips. Due to the Matte finish these lipsticks do tend to be slightly drying like most Matte formulas. But an easy trick is to place some lip balm on your lips before placing your lipstck on top. You will still get that nice matte look but with no dried up lips.

My most used one, and my all time favourite colour is 903C Just Peachy. It is my go to every day your lips but better colour! It lasts for most of the day with me only having to re-apply ever once in a while. For the price and formula you can't go wrong with these. If your a girl on a budget, or a just a lipstick lover, I highly recommend you give these a try.

I have done some swatches for you and photographed the lipsticks to show you some of the colours available in the collection. I don't have the complete collection but I think I'm pretty close!

• 968- Pinkerbell
• 901B- Think Pink

APP OF THE MONTH: THE HUNT

The hunt is a app for all you fashionistas out there!

It is an interactive app where you can post pics of items you want, and other fellow people on the app can help you out by telling where to find the item and how much it is. The idea is genius! I can't get off the app!

Not only can you upload what you would like people to find. On your feed you can see other clothing items that people are on the hunt for and help them out if you know where to find it. You can directly link webpages straight for the internet so you can go buy it then and there. I can't believe we haven't seen anything like this before.

I highly recommend giving it a download! You will probably find yourself constantly on it looking at the new hunt popping in your feed. It gives you so many fashion ideas and if you like something you can go follow the hunt and wait till when someone finds it. The app gives me heaps of inspiration for different outfit ideas and also some extra much needed staples to add to my wardrobe.

I love it!!!

I hope you are having a good day :)

First off I really want to get my hands on the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua Foundation. I have heard so many amazing thing about it. Its just so expensive :( Another makeup want, that also has a large price tag on it is the YSL Rouge Volupte Lipsticks. They have the most beautiful shades in the most beautiful packaging but are in the $60 range :( They are defiantly going to be a future birthday present to myself. I keep going into the store to swatch them. They are just so luxurious.

When it comes to body care I have had my eye on the body shop scrubs. I love there body butters so I cant wait to get my hands on one. Pink Grapefruit it my favourite scent!

If you read my last post on my Essie nail polish collection you would already know some shades are already on my wishlist. This is the shade Chinchilly with is such a lovely winter shade, and I don't have one quite like it.

You can't go wrong with the benefit boxed blushes. I have four of them and they are all lovely. The shade Dallas caught my eye as it is quite a bronzed shade, something that I don't really have anything like in my collection. I really want to give it a try, and have a play around with it.

When it comes to fashion I am in love with the Fedora style black felt hats coming in fashion. I need one in my life! I just love how they complete a look. A perfect accessory for winter. Especially as I cant pull off beanies.

They say every girl needs a white shirt. Unfortunately I'm still on the hunt for my perfect one :( But I'm going to keep looking! They are so simple yet can work with so many looks making you look sophisticated yet effortlessly chic as well.

SUMMER CONCERTS FLASHBACK

Oh how I miss the warm weather lounging in the sun with a nice cold drink in hand. Now its thermals, coats, blankets, and a freezing cold flat :( I am defiantly a summer person I despise the cold but here I find myself living in a place were the average temperature is 5 degrees 99% of the time! I need to move to the tropics!

The only thing I like about winter is the skiing! But that only happens around once a year. The rest I hate. For me there is no cosying up by the heater with a nice warm hot chocolate due to the extremely high cost of running it. Nore is there a fire as they are banned in the city. It more me shivering holding my hot water bottle with 3 blankets on not wanting to get out of bed all day!

Everyone has there own opinion on what season they like. Mine is for sure summer. I love the heat! A slight gust of wind and I immediately have goosebumps. I get very cold very easily! IN the summertime you get a tan, the suns always shining, your skin and hair look healthier, you spend a lot more time outdoors. What more can you want.

Here are some snaps I took of the Big Day Out a summer concert thats happens every year in Auckland. Its one of the main concerts we have in NZ, with people gearing up for next years one as soon as this years one has ended. It was a particularly nice day that day so I thought I would show you some snaps. Im jealous of everyone one in the Northern Hemisphere. This is what you have to look forward to! For all of us in the Southern Hemisphere we can just reminisce to get us threw the cold winter!

ELF BRAND FOCUS

Clear eyelash and brow Mascara
Lip Crayon in Pink elephant

Lip Exfoliator

Hey Lovelies

Elf is a super affordable makeup brand that offers a huge range of products with some definite gems in the range. I going to show you guys what I have from the the Brand Elf and do a little review for you on my thoughts on the products, and If i would recommend them of you. There are some definite hits and misses with the products available, which occurs with most brands, and its always good to hear other people opinions so you know you wont be wasting your time and money.

Elf prices range from around $2- $10. For makeup its hard to find much cheaper. The low prices makes it easy to play around and try thinks out. Exactly what I have done today. So lets get on to it!

Lip exfoliator
This packaging is genius! Its what made me want to buy it in the first place. There is nothing quite like this on the market, well not that I have found. I own the Lush Lip exfoliant with is great but I find it can get a little bit messy and is unhygienic to apply. This makes it so easy, you just apply it like a lippy, and it is great for on the go . The product is grain like pieces imbedded in a balm. It can get a slight bit rough at times so you need to use a gentle hand. I love using thing before putting on my lippy to make sure my lips are nice and smooth!

Elf Eyebrow Kit in Ash
This little kit consists of a gel and a powder. I don't tend to use the powder as it is slightly to light for me, but the gel works very very. It gives my eyebrows a nice defined look and also the gel texture helps to set my brows into place. I like to use this when I want a more dramatic look. When I'm wanting a more subtle look I tend to stick towards my powder or pencil products.

Brow and Lash Mascara
This stuff is a $1.99, and wow was I impressed. It works just as well at keeping my brows in place as my Anastasia Brow gel. My eyebrows don't budge all day. I don't particularly use it on my eyelashes but one side of the tube does say eyelashes and one eyebrows. To be honest I think both sides are the same product. I use both sides for my brows and get the same results.

Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick - In Pink Umbrella
This is a really lovely your lips but better shade of pink. It is a great colour to use when your going for a natural day time look. It is quite sheer due to the gloss consistency but is easily buildable. In the picture I am wearing a couple layers of it, which is my preferred look.

Waterproof Eyeliner Pen- In black and Coffee
I had such high hopes for this but unfortunately was so disappointed!! There is heaps of hype around this on the internet with people comparing it to the Stila Waterproof stay all day Eyeliner. But sadly it is no way near comparable to it. The first disappointing thing about the product was the colour. Coffee was blacker than the shade black? In the image the top shade is coffee? The difference shows even more in real life. Not only was the colour bad, the stay power was awful, and they were no wear near waterproof. As soon as I applied them they started bleeding, and after waiting for them to dry I did a smudge test to see if it smudged and it sure did. You can see the difference within the two pictures. I would much rather pay for my Stila one as that thing doesn't budge and truly does stay all day.
